Since many of Annie’s friends come from Macalester College, there was a high population of international students and non-Midwest people on the trip. Thus, Annie, Tayler, Catie, and I (we all went to high school together), became Minnesota ambassadors to the outside world. How does one have a true Minnesota weekend? This is how:
Food: This morning, I’m making waffles–or in this case: pancakes! Annie divided all the meals on the camping trip into teams and I somehow ended up on breakfast…
Bonfire with s’mores (obviously)
Jean/flannel shirts
Beer (once again, obvious)–also bringing a cooler of beer on the river
Country music and cowboy hats
Reliving childhood with Jenga, cards, and True American
Not pictured, and perhaps most important:
-tubing down the river (a new concept for the all Mac kids)
-boating, whether on a speed boat or a pontoon
-drunken Gopher/Badger/Fuck Iowa chants along said river
-swimming in the river at the end of the night
